Youth
Relationships are important - Developing trusting relationships, growing in faith, serving the world around us, reaching out to students in the Sequim valley, and worshipping God are all priorities for our Middle School (grades 6-8) and our High School (grades 9-12) groups.
Weekly Large Group Meetings
Middle School Youth Group: Tuesday nights 6:30 - 8 p.m. This group is on summer break. Summer Middle School activities are scheduled. High School Youth Group: Wednesday nights 7- 8:45 p.m. The High School group meets for active games, worship, prayer in small groups, and interactive lessons about life and God.
Reaching out to the World: For many years students from DCC have reached out to the world. Starting in Sequim working to help those who are in need, Ucluelet BC putting on a camp for First Nation children since 2005, Tijuana, Mexico where we have built houses for families since 2004, Stockton inner-city where we put on a Vacation Bible School for children since 2010, and the Flathead Reservation where we ran Day Camp with Native children, 1999-2009. We have also participated in the Advent Conspiracy, www.adventconspiracy.org for two years and Acting on Aids through World Vision. We desire to share the Love of Christ in a very tangible way.
Staff Volunteers: Our active staff relates well to students by attending the snowboarding camp at Mt Baker, camping at Firwood on Lake Whatcom, and at various monthly activities.
Retreats and Camps: Fall Retreat for our high school group happens every November and our Graduate Raft Trip on the Deschutes River takes place after graduation in June. We also send students to Camp Firwood in Bellingham and we attend a winter camp within walking distance from the Mt. Baker Ski Area each year.
