Community Groups
Fellowship or Community groups meet weekly in a home setting. These groups offer a place where people can develop deeper friendships through sharing, praying, studying and discussing scripture and Christian life. The members also support each other in times of personal need and family crisis.
Some groups study books of the Bible, while others discuss current topics, devotionals or Christian classics. Decisions about study materials are usually made by the group. Sometimes groups invite an elder or other teacher from the congregation to teach their group on a particular topic, or for a certain period of time.
Groups generally meet for one and a half to three hours. Some have coffee, tea and snacks, and occasional group meals, while others have meals together every week. They meet in the evenings or on the weekends.
Each group typically consists of eight to sixteen people, including a host who offers their home as a place to meet, and an individual who offers to lead and teach the group for a period of time.
